I am not a big fun of reunions, especially of bands broken up for years, because I always get the feeling they run out of money and are back to milk the early days some more, so I am not too broken up about the announcement that Blur’s Olympic geek at Hyde Park will be their last. I am a bit sad though about Gorillaz that, as Damon Albarn said, the group’s future is “unlikely”. I liked Gorillaz, both their music and art but mostly the concept of a virtual band or a band of avatars. Hopefully this leads the way for a new “concept” by Damon Albran that I am growing to like over the post Blur years.
